The managed service provider extends its scope of services for SAP transformation projects in public clouds with the acquisition
Managed service provider Claranet has announced its acquisition of SAP consultancy firm KHETO Consulting GmbH. KHETO was founded in 2005 with a focus on SAP Business Intelligence and provides companies in Germany with consulting services throughout the entire lifecycle of their SAP projects - from strategic alignment to implementation, right through to support. With the acquisition of the Cologne-based company, Claranet is also extending its own portfolio in the field of managed services to include operation of SAP workloads in public clouds.
Commenting on the acquisition, Olaf Fischer, Managing Director at Claranet Germany, explained:
The announcement that SAP will continue to support 'AnyDB' only until 2027 has injected new impetus into the entire SAP market. With many upcoming migrations from SAP to S/4HANA, we are therefore anticipating a simultaneous transition towards the public cloud platforms of Microsoft, AWS or Google. This expectation is not least supported by the strategic alliance between SAP and Microsoft in their joint ‘Embrace Initiative’, which also relies on a strong convergence of cloud and SAP."
"Combining the SAP know-how of KHETO with the experience of Claranet in the areas of cloud transformation and managed hosting also in public clouds will enable us to provide clients in Germany with optimum cloud-based support on their road from SAP R/3 to S/4HANA and offer an extensive lifecycle service."
Markus Grimm, one of the two Managing Directors at KHETO, added: "With its new technologies and platforms, the SAP environment is a continuous growth market. KHETO can now extend its portfolio in a targeted way to include these important modernisation topics by taking advantage of synergies with Claranet. Integration of KHETO into the Claranet Group will offer both Claranet and KHETO a broader spectrum in the SAP market.”
Thanks to KHETO and its many years of SAP expertise, Claranet is also specifically targeting SAP cloud migration projects, SAP professional services and SAP managed services. In addition to this, the acquisition will offer the employees at KHETO new perspectives and opportunities in further activity areas and future-oriented topics in and around SAP and the cloud. As such, the integration of KHETO into the Claranet Group holds potential for everyone involved."
Charles Nasser, Founder and CEO of Claranet commented:
The experience that the team at KHETO have around the migration of SAP to S/4HANA is significant additional knowledge for Claranet. Working together, we will be able to strengthen our relationship with SAP and the hyperscalers and offer our customers comprehensive support for their SAP Cloud modernisation projects.”
