Claranet launches technology services programme for Private Equity

London, 16 July 2026. Claranet launches the Claranet Portfolio Operator programme, formalising the cost, cloud, cyber and managed-services work it has run for private equity-backed companies in mid and upper-mid market for years.

To private equity, Claranet is the Portfolio Operator: the operator that closes the gap between the value creation plan and run-rate technology outcomes across the hold. Not a strategy consultancy, not a diligence boutique. Where others advise, Claranet delivers and runs the plan, at mid-market economics and on private equity timelines. Claranet brings agility and speed to projects, with the ability to deploy highly experienced engineers within 48 hours for solution design, problem-solving and technical due diligence.

"This is not a standing start. Claranet has run the technology behind portfolio companies for years. Our experience is that for most investors the thesis is sound. Where value slips are in the execution between Day 100 and exit," said Matt Whelan, Director of Private Equity Partnerships at Claranet. "Advisers hand the plan over. We deliver and run it, turning technology from a risk to be managed into a lever for value while the asset is owned."

A privately owned technology services provider of more than 3,300 people, Claranet brings more than thirty years of experience of operating mid-market technology, helping organisations modernise, scale and operate critical technology. With deep expertise of delivering and integrating transformational technology programmes, including around forty acquisitions of our own. Backed by private equity investment and with extensive experience supporting PE-backed businesses, we understand the practical realities of driving value creation while maintaining operational resilience and preparing assets for future exit events.
