Daldoss Elevetronic: Cloud Innovation to Optimise Sales Work
Daldoss Elevetronic represents excellence in the elevator and freight lift sector. It is a modern, customer-oriented family business that since 1945 has been able to innovate and expand beyond European borders, while remaining firmly tied to the territory. Over the years, technological and organisational innovation have made Daldoss Elevetronic a point of reference for customers all over the world.
The Challenge
Technological and process innovation cannot fail to be supported by the evolution of business software that provides the right tools to collaborators to generate value for the company. And this is where Claranet Italia came into play. The first step was to understand how business flows work, understand the pains and try to design some solutions together, this is one of the activities that falls within the scope of Discovery.
It is not about doing a technical analysis, but about delving into and addressing business problems, knowing the needs of stakeholders, highlighting priorities and constraints.
Thus, needs emerged on two different levels:
- The first is of an operational nature: simplify as much as possible the activities of the sales staff who are responsible for accompanying the customer throughout the entire journey in Daldoss Elevetronic, from the first contact to the shipment of the product
- The second is of a strategic nature: giving management and sales updated information to make short and long-term decisions
The solution
Cloud Swift Bridge by Claranet
Claranet Italia's proposal was to build together a cloud native application that acts as a bridge between the desktop systems active in the customer's infrastructure and the AWS cloud, adding those currently missing features that allow sales to track and structure information on offers and orders: this is the proposal that we at Claranet call Cloud Swift Bridge.
This solution is perfect for cases where the customer works on desktop software or in any case local to their infrastructure that do not communicate enough and that produce data that must be aggregated and normalised to generate useful information for strategic and operational choices.
An Agile Approach
The challenge accepted by Daldoss Elevetronic and Claranet Italia was to build an application from scratch in a few weeks that could support the business and satisfy the needs that emerged in the early stages. The Agile approach with weekly iterations enabled by the SoR contract, the close collaboration with the PO Claudio who was able to catalyse the requests and needs of the stakeholders, the support of the stakeholders and the close communication led us to release weekly first in the test environment and then in production an application without too many frills that satisfies the main needs, evaluating from week to week how to remove any roadblocks and how to modify the roadmap based on the new needs that emerged.
Application architecture
The application is composed of two modules:
- An ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) that takes care of reading data from the Daldoss Elevetronic systems and management software in real time using a Site2Site VPN, processing them, normalising them, structuring them and making them available to the CRM
In this case, this layer was created specifically for Daldoss Elevetronic needs and for the data recovery method that the software used by the customer makes available. The Cloud Swift Bridge solution does not exclude the use of external services for data integration where this solution is better in compliance with the project constraints
- A CRM that provides sales with features to manage customers and some dashboards to make strategic decisions. This is the great value of the Cloud Swift Bridge that finally allows you to create information enriched with new features
Both modules leverage AWS serverless and managed services such as Cognito, S3, Lambda, Route53, CloudFront, Api Gateway, VPC and VPN Site2Site, and OpenSearch Service.

Next steps
This is a project that can expand in different directions, both towards internal users, adding new data sources or new functionalities for sales and the board, and towards external users, i.e. Daldoss Elevetronic customers. The serverless and managed cloud architecture will allow us to serenely face the challenges that will emerge from the continuous evolution of the customer's business.
